Run for Safe Food 2026 Unveils Official T-Shirt and Finisher Medal at Kolkata Press Club

Mukti, a socio-economic development organisation working extensively in West Bengal, officially unveiled the Participants’ T-Shirt and Finisher Medal for Run for Safe Food 2026 at a press conference held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the Kolkata Press Club. The event marked a significant milestone in the lead-up to the much-anticipated second edition of the run, dedicated to promoting safe, organic, and chemical-free food systems.
The ceremony was graced by renowned film actress Ms. Rituparna Sengupta, Brand Ambassador of Run for Safe Food 2026. The event was also attended by Mr. Sankar Halder, Founder and President of Mukti; Mr. Satyajit Roy, Secretary of Mukti; members of Mukti’s Board; organisers of the initiative; representatives from runners’ clubs; supporters of sustainable and safe food practices; and distinguished sponsors including YCPIL/VIVO, Green Machine Co., DiagnoEasy, Bisleri, HDFC, IICB Cancer Institute, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that Run for Safe Food is an initiative of Mukti, and 2026 marks the second edition of this meaningful movement. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of safe, organic, nutritious, and toxin-free food, while also encouraging fitness, conscious consumption, and mindful lifestyle choices.
The official T-shirt unveiling symbolises collective responsibility towards healthier food systems and a healthier society. As part of the participation kit, all registered participants will receive their T-shirts in advance, during the Expo scheduled on 14 January 2026, ahead of the main event.
The Run for Safe Food 2026 is scheduled to be held on 15 February 2026 at Eco Park, Kolkata. The countdown has begun for this impactful run advocating food safety, sustainability, and community well-being.
The Finisher’s Medal, revealed at the event, features a circular design symbolising continuity and community spirit. Finished in an elegant antique style, one side highlights the Run for Safe Food identity, while the other bears Mukti’s emblem with the year 2026, reflecting the values of safe food, conscious living, and collective action.

Mukti is a grassroots development organisation working across West Bengal with a strong focus on sustainable livelihoods, community resilience, and ethical development practices. Mukti enjoys Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is registered under NSE-SSE. Through Mukti Fresh, its organic movement and market linkage initiative, the organisation currently works with over 11,000 organic farmers, promoting ecological farming practices, fair pricing, and local food networks. As of now, 250+ farmers are PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) certified, underscoring Mukti’s commitment to trust-based certification, farmer empowerment, and long-term sustainability.
