Union Minister for Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, Attends Inauguration Programme of Newly Renovated JBA Hall at Jute House

Union Minister for Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh today inaugurated the newly renovated JBA Hall of Jute House in Kolkata.This 170- year old heritage building of Jute House in this city has been renovated, hence, this event marked a significant step in revitalising the heritage infrastructure associated with India’s jute industry.
The minister graced the event as the chief guest.
Ms. Padmini Singh, Joint Secretary(Fibre), Union Ministry of Textiles, was also present in the event.

Shri Shashi Bhushan Singh, Secretary of National Jute Board, Shri Ajay Kumar Jolly, MD, Jute Corporation of India Ltd., Shri Moloy Chandan Chakraborty, Jute Commissioner, Shri Madan Gopal Toshniwal, Chairman of the Jute Balers Association, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, former minister of Revenue & Land Reforms, Govt. of Bihar, Shri Neeraj Kulhari, Deputy Jute Commissioner, Shri Shushil Poddar, President, CWBTA, S Ravi Gandhi, ADG of BSF also graced this occasion.
Shri Singh said, he was delighted to be present at the inauguration ceremony of JBA Hall.
Shri Madan Gopal Toshniwal, Chairman, JBA felicitated the Union minister.

The programme started with lighting of the lamp. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Singh thanked everyone for renovating this heritage building. On this occasion, Shri Singh had an interaction with the members of JBA, they told him about the various complexities of the industry that they faced.
Shri Singh felicitated the guests present on the stage and said, all the problems will be resolved. Shri Singh urged them to work together for their lown interests, because a countr progresses only when farmers prosper. He added, everybody will have to work with transparency in the interest of farmers and the country. He assured the members of the Jute Balers Association regarding their long-standing demands and said, they will be fulfilled.He also urged the State government to work together with the Union to solve the problems of jute industry, cultivation and jute goods production jn the state.

Former members of the Jute Balers Association were honoured in this programme. At the end, local jute farmers got a chance to honour the Union minister.
